Steve has been named Preservation Week 2012 National Spokesman by the American Library Association. He was the keynote speaker for the Preservation Week 2012 Kick Off, sponsored by the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS), on Monday, Jan. 23, at the Dallas Convention Center. Preservation Week, a joint initiative of the ALCTS, the Library of Congress, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), encourages libraries and other institutions to connect our communities through events, activities and resources that highlight what we can do, individually and together, to preserve our personal and shared collections.
Here’s the schedule for the months ahead. December 27th the paperback of The Jefferson Key goes on sale. On February 27, The Admiral’s Mark, the next short story (a Cotton Malone one this time) will be available for pre-order, with a release date of April 2. The Columbus Affair, the next novel (a stand alone) is available for pre-order now and will be released on May 15, 2012. The book tour starts May 15 and will extend to the end of June. That schedule is still being finalized and will be coming in the spring. Lots of activities on the horizon.
My good friend M.J. Rose asked if she could use Cotton Malone in a short story. Sure. Why not? And it involves Malone seeing a sex therapist. Really? “How do you plan to accomplish that?” I asked her. Her answer was clear. “You’ll see.” And see I did. The result is In Session, where Malone joins Lee Child’s Jack Reacher and Barry Eisler’s John Rain for more visits to the therapist. It’s unique short fiction and worth a look. It’s now available for download from Amazon and Barnes & Noble. A portion of all proceeds will go to the Wish You Well Foundation, supporting family literacy.
