On March 26, 2015, Steve appeared at the oldest house in St. Augustine, Florida, which is also the oldest city in North America. It was part of a History Matters event to raise money for the house. C-SPAN2 was in town and decided to film the event. This was the first time Steve spoke publicly about The Patriot Threat, as the book would not release until 5 days later. Those present that night got a sneak peek and the ability to buy the book early (part of their contribution to the restoration project). Steve spoke at length about the book and then took questions. The Providence Journal is one of the few newspapers left that actively reviews books. One of its reviewers, Jon Land, has chosen The Lincoln Myth as one his five best books of 2014. The other four are from Stephen King, Lee Child, James Rollins, and Doug Preston. Here’s what Jon said: “Berry once again turns history on its ear in making all things Lincoln feel fresh again. Cotton Malone traces secrets linked to the U.S. Constitution and the Civil War in this revisionist tale that is layered masterfully together. Berry has upped his game another level and the result is a perfect thriller in every respect.”

On March 31, 2015, Cotton Malone returns for his 10th adventure in The Patriot Threat. When his former-boss, Stephanie Nelle, asks him to track a rogue North Korean who may have acquired some top secret Treasury Department files—the kind that could bring the United States to its knees—Malone is vaulted into a harrowing twenty-four-hour chase that begins on the water in Venice and ends in the remote highlands of Croatia. With appearances by Franklin Roosevelt, Andrew Mellon, a curious painting that still hangs in the National Gallery of Art, and some eye-opening revelations from the $1 bill, The Patriot Threat is 90% historical fact and 10% exciting speculation, a trademark mix of history and suspense.
